Description of Technical Aspects

This portfolio contains both chromogenic photographs and fine art giclée prints. The photographs are derived from both film based and digital origins.

I set up subjects or fabricate constructions in my studio, then strategically light them for expressive meaning with studio tungsten lighting instruments. Film based images are photographed with a Hasselblad camera and the negatives are scanned for printing. The prints are exposed by laser light (instead of the conventional lamphead) on Kodak Endura Metallic paper and processed in the usual manner for chromogenic prints.  This beautiful Kodak paper is long lasting in addition to enhancing the richness of color and pattern in the images.

Digital images are photographed with a Nikon digital camera, esthetically refined in Photoshop and printed on the Epson Ultrachrome archival printer. These original giclée photographic prints are digitally printed with archival ultrachrome inks on archival paper.

All images are matted and framed with archival materials. Chromogenic Metallic photographs are available as mounted and over-matted prints without a frame. Giclée photographic prints are also available matted without the frame. Prints are available in other sizes than the ones ascribed to them in this site's portfolio. These options are available by contacting me through e-mail correspondence or through the Metamorphosis Art Gallery. Please go to the Contact page for more information.
